In my search to help others who are struggling for work I have found another great job opportunity that actually pays decent wages. The United States Census Bureau is hiring hundreds for part time temporary work. Don't be turned off by the temporary part. The job is considered temporary because the duration is only for about a year. That should give ample opportunity to make money and get your bills paid until the economy begins to turn around. Almost all the positions available do not require any former experience or education credentials other than having your high school diploma or GED. Jobs start out at around $15.00 an hour or more.
Looking at their recruitment site, I didn't find any open positions available in Oregon but there are many for numerous other states. All your training is paid for as well as the time you will spend training. If you are going to work in a position that requires you to use your car you are reimbursed for your mileage and many other items that you might have to spend any money on related to work. Included in the benefits of working for the United States Census Bureau is health care. Right now many of us have lost our jobs resulting in loss of our medical coverage. Many of us cannot survive with out it especially if we have children.
There are several positions that you can apply for and all of which are easy to do and well worth the money that they are paying per hour to do. You can apply to be a Team Leader or Team Leader Assistant. This position requires that you help out your team of door to door surveyors. Help them learn how to approach their community and perform the survey as well as what neighborhoods they need to visit. Assistants do pretty much the same but may also need to work out in the field as well. Census Surveyors are paid to go door to door and to specific areas that have previously agreed to meet with them to gather information.
Those of you that aren't comfortable going out and physically getting information there are office jobs that need to be filled too. Work at your local headquarters and start putting together all the information that has been gathered. Help out with payroll and placing and answering phone calls. There is a lot of work that needs to be done and you will be trained well before you are set out on your own.
The United States Census Bureau is also looking for people that do have a higher educational background and these positions pay much much more. They need people to work in statistics and can put numbers together as well as future possible statistics in various areas. If you are interested in any of these jobs check out their site and fill out the online application. Each and every job has a full job description and job requirements to read through before you apply. If you are applying for a job working out in the field, the Census Bureau will have you placed in areas around your neighborhood making the job even more appealing.
