Parents, you know how hard it is to find good indoor activities for kids when the weather is either too rainy to play outside or too hot for kiddos to stand. (Actually, kids will usually play until you make them come in; it’s their health we’re worried about!) Bowling is one of those great indoor activities that lets kids have a good time while enjoying protection from the sun (as well as air conditioning, usually). But it can get pricey, especially during the hottest months of the summer.
Luckily, we can now get free bowling games for our kids throughout the entire summer! If you register at Kids Bowl Free, you can get two free games per child, per day throughout the entire summer. Just find the closest participating bowling alley near you (we found three near us) and sign up. Parents will have to fill in their information to receive weekly coupons. You can register several children per account.
Another great part of the deal is that you can register multiple accounts under the same address as long as you have more than one email address. For example, my husband registered at one bowling alley while I registered at another one so we could have access to both of them—which is great, since one offers free games starting this month while the other does not until April.
Parents can also take advantage of an optional discount card so they, too, can bowl all summer long. The card is $24.99 and includes two games per day all summer as well—for up to four adults! It’s a very good deal if you want to participate, but if you don’t, remember that it’s optional (when you register it will ask you to sign up twice; just scroll to the bottom of the screen until you see the “No Thanks” link. You can always sign up later, too, if you don’t have the money now.). The card looks like it’s only valid per bowling alley, though, so if you use more than one, you may wish to buy a card per bowling alley.
Just remember that shoes are not included, so if you plan to bowl a lot you might want to invest in a pair of bowling shoes. The definition of children also varies from bowling alley to bowling alley; check with the one you register (it will be listed on your page) for dates of availability and ages that qualify (most are up to 16 or 18 years of age).
