Get handed the dreaded pink slip? No worries because there are still jobs out there, you just have to know where to look. Recently I came across a great government site that is totally legit, offering jobs all over the United States and world wide. Using their site's search engine, you can search by zip code as well as what type of work you are looking for. There are numerous jobs needing new people with all different types of skills. Chances are, you'll be able to find a job that you can easily fit into.

USAJobs.gov is a pretty large site but still easy to navigate around. It is the official job site of the United States Federal Government. Any jobs that are available can be found here in this one place. World wide, they have over 41,000 jobs listed for you to apply to. You really can't beat that any where else. Plus, because it is a government site you know that you are actually looking at real jobs with out the added worry that it might be a scam or a waste of your time. Sites like craigslist.org you never know what you are going to end up with and can find that the job that you applied for wasn't exactly what was described in the ad.

So what is your background? Do you work in construction? Maybe you are looking for something new like a job in Human Resources as an assistant. Just looking at the Portland area here in Oregon there are a total of 8 pages of job listings. Almost all jobs are for permanent hire and full time. Base salary for the lesser experienced jobs start out at over $18,000 a year which isn't bad if you are getting your foot in the door on a new career path.

Those out there that do have direct experience or education in a specific field, the Federal Government is offering generous pay. For example, a Lead Building Manager has the opportunity if hired to bring home over $84,000 a year with paid training for any additional education. Dental Assistants can bring home over $25,000 a year and these positions are permanent and full time. Do you work in Conservation? Are you looking for a job as a Natural Resources Specialist ? On the site they have a position open for a permanent full-time employee and are offering the right candidate over $84,000 a year.

Losing your job in this economy can be stress-full and terrifying, but don't let it get to you. There are resources out there that you can use to get yourself back in the work place and get your bills back in order. A job with the Federal Government means that you will be well taken care of and if there is a possibility that you may lose your job due to funding, you already know where to begin your search to get back on track to keep those paychecks rolling in.
